Cast List

Thanks to everyone who auditioned.
So sorry I can't use everyone.    Please don't get discouraged about the results.   Come audition again.

To the cast
Everyone needs to be to rehearsal after school tomorrow.   Also, I will hand out calendars tomorrow, but they are online now.   Please check the calendar and clear your schedules.   We only have 7 weeks to put this show together and cast members must make arrangements to attend rehearsals.   If you can not make this commitment, please let me (Mrs. Day) know tomorrow so your part can be recast.

Here is the Cast List

First Day of Auditions WOW!!!

I just finished up with auditions and I am a bit in awe.    There were so many incredible auditions.    I just wanted to say thanks.   Thank you for working so hard to be prepared.  It was so wonderful to have so many people who knew and understood the text.    You have made my job super hard.   Now the question is not "do we have the talent to do this show"....but "which of the talented people do we use in the show."
In all there were 60 auditioners.   I am thrilled at the response and only wish there was a place for everyone.    Shakespeare is not like the musical where I can fit in almost everyone, this time there will be many that do not make the list.  I just want to be honest...this casting is going to be tough on many of us and I include me in that.
I wish you all the best.
Congrats on a great night.

Audition Day

Well today is the day.....Auditions.    I am writing this at 11:30 AM and by 5:00 PM it will all be in the past.    I have truley enjoyed watching so many of you work so hard for auditions.   You have been working and working on your monologues and getting more and more feedback.   I am so proud of you!!   I have never seen a group work so hard for a Shakespeare audition.    I am thrilled.
However, I am also sad.   I am so torn.   It is so difficult to see almost 60 names on the signups and know that there will be about 25 on the cast list.   This means that over 1/2 of the auditioners will not be cast members.     This is so hard----I wish I could use everyone.   But in order to keep the integrity of the show I need to keep the cast to around 25.    (Many schools have a small cast show of 5 -10 people---my small cast show is 25 :) )
Please remember that casting a play is like putting pieces of a puzzle together.    I have 60 pieces to choose from to make a picture.... each of you is an INCREDIBLE PIECE!!!   You just might not fit in this puzzle.   PLEASE remember there is always another show and you will find your fit if you keep trying.    :)
